New Years Cocktails

January 1, 2017

This post was fun to research!

I recruited my top drinkers, who were bravely up to the task of trying any concoction I was able to think of.

Here are our winners from the tasting. Each recipe is easy to assemble, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and tastes like heaven on earth.

All recipes are created using liquors and garnishes that are easy to obtain (most you probably already have in the kitchen and liquor cabinet!) so you can whip up some classy cocktails right before your guests arrive.

"Raspberry Fizz"

-Cuvee 20 Brut, J Vineyards and Winery

-St. Germaine

-Raspberry

Fill champagne flute halfway with sparkling, then add a splash of St. Germaine. Add a raspberry to float on top for looks.

The St. Germaine tones down the bubbles and adds a sweet floral note. This drink is perfect for guests who love their bubbly to ring in the new year, with a pop of color from the raspberry.

"New Years Kiss"

-Absolut Vodka

-Winter Wassail mulled cider

-Lemon

-Rosemary

Start with a splash of vodka in a martini glass. Add Winter Wassail up to the rim. Add a quarter of a lemon slice, and a sprig of rosemary for garnish.

This drink can be a dangerous one. My taste testers could barely taste the vodka, and downed three of these while I was prepping the next drink. Very potent, but delicious!

*Can be dressed up with a sugar rim if you choose

"White Christmas"

-Grey Goose Vodka

-St. Germaine

-Lemon

-Mint

Pour equal parts vodka and St. Germaine. Add a quarter of a lemon peel and mint for garnish.

Strong floral notes from the St. Germaine and mint are present in this drink, but this one can sip easy!

*Can be dressed up with a sugar rim if you choose

"Cuvee Twist"

-Gin

-Cuvee 20 Brut, J Vineyards and Winery

-Rosemary

-Lime

Pour a splash of gin and 3 ounces of cuvee. Add a quarter of a lime peel and a sprig of rosemary for garnish.

This drink is great for bubbly fans, and the cuvee can be substituted for prosecco as well as apple cider.

"Classic Toddy"

We did a few variations on the classic  Hot Toddy drink. This is a fun way to spice up your traditional bourbon drink, with a few new changes.

-Bourbon

-Honey

-Lemon

-Hot Water

Classic Toddy Variations

These variations are simple bourbon cocktails that are sweet, smooth, and will still give you that warm, holiday feeling.

-bourbon

-wassail mulled spice

-bourbon

-apple cider

-bourbon

-St. Germaine

*can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks

Mocktails

Virgin Cuvee Twist

-replace alcohol with sparkling, tonic water, or apple cider

Virgin New Years Kiss

-cider

-wassail mulled spice

-rosemary

We hope these cocktail recipes come in handy as you and your guests ring in the new year!

Cheers!
